About Us
CAMDER FC C.I.C is a vibrant and fast-growing veteran football community group based in Derby, United Kingdom. Founded in April 2022, we blend sport, social bonding, and community development into one powerful mission: bringing people together for growth, wellness, and unity.
How and Why CAMDER FC Was Formed
It all began with a group of friends in Derby, including our current President, Mr. Emmanuel Muzang, who met every weekend to relax, share stories, enjoy a few drinks, and laugh together.
One of those weekends, a simple yet life-changing idea was born:
“Why not start a football group where we can play, socialise, and build stronger bonds?”
Weekend after weekend, the idea kept resurfacing — until finally, in April 2022, the group took action.
Everyone had a role to play: some brought footballs, others invited more Cameroonians, and someone, of course, brought the beers. That Sunday at Normanton Park, Derby, CAMDER FC officially came to life.
By 2023, the club had grown significantly and was formally registered as a Community Interest Company (CIC) — a clear reflection of our commitment to accountability, community development, and long-term impact.
By 2023, we became officially registered as a Community Interest Company (CIC), further solidifying our mission.
Today, CAMDER FC is recognised as one of the best and most family-friendly Cameroonian veteran football groups, not just in Derby but across the global diaspora.
We’re more than a football team, we’re a support network. While we enjoy sport and leisure, our focus also includes personal development, career growth, and helping each other live better, more fulfilling lives.
Our motto, Fraternity, Solidarity, and Community Engagement, reflects who we are: an Ubuntu-inspired family that thrives together.
Our slogan, Sports and Leisure, is the root of our cause and the heartbeat of our community.
At CAMDER FC CIC, our impact goes far beyond football. Every Sunday at Alvaston Park, between 60–80 people gather to play, laugh, eat, and support one another. What begins as a simple kickabout often becomes a lifeline — a place of healing, hope, and human connection.
Through sport, conversation, and shared meals, we are breaking barriers between communities, tackling loneliness and mental health challenges, and creating a culture of belonging in Derby.
